Ordinal Maxi Biz (OMB)
NEW YORK – Christie’s is pleased to present Ordinal Maxi Biz (OMB), the first Bitcoin Ordinal sale on christies.com, open for bidding April 9 – 16, 2024. The exclusive, digital auction features OMB Collection creator, ZK shark’s selection of works by notable artists Tony Tafuro and berkin bags with contributions from developer Nullish, presented in four lots. The ordinals are all primary market, as they come straight from the artists.
Lot 1: Red, Blue, Green, and Orange Eye OMB Set is the sale’s top lot and includes four Inscriptions: one from each of the four series of OMB PFPs, which are classified and easily recognizable by their distinct eye colors. Every OMB is a one-of-one, hand-drawn sketch by artist Tony Tafuro.
Ordinal Maxi Biz (OMB) is a collection by ZK Shark and artist Tony Tafuro that consists of 5,141 hand-drawn one-of-one OMBs. Every OMB is inscribed on Bitcoin and each eye color corresponds to specific on-chain traits. (ex. Blue = Block 78, Green = Block 9)
Nicole Sales Giles, Director of Digital Art Sales, Christie’s comments: “Ordinals are such an important part of today’s Web3 and Digital Art culture – It’s been a pleasure to work with ZK on this project and to dive into OMB and the fascinating developments happening on Bitcoin.”
ZK shark 🦈 says: “Ordinal theory and inscriptions have sparked a technical revolution that enables Bitcoin – humanity’s most decentralized cryptocurrency – to function as a permissionless and immutable medium for fine digital artifacts. Inscriptions prove Bitcoin’s potential to preserve uncensored history and cultural expressions akin to earlier humans’ cave paintings. Christie’s global presence further solidify Bitcoin as the world’s top cryptocurrency and the premiere destination for fine digital artifacts and documentation. OMB Cannot Be Stopped.”
Bidding will begin at 10 am EST on 9 April and conclude on 16 April. Each lot will have a starting bid of $100. USD or BTC will be accepted.
