Jewels Online Totals $13,521,438
NEW YORK – Christie’s kicked off Jewels Online, the first jewelry sale of the season with exceptional results. The sale achieved a total of $13,521,438 and was sold 131% by its low estimate, 100% by value, and 97% by lot.
These results vividly underscore the robustness of Christie's jewelry division and the unwavering enthusiasm of our clientele. The sale showcased a diverse array of meticulously curated pieces, including signed jewels, diamonds, colored gemstones, and esteemed designs from renowned makers such as Buccellati, Bulgari, Cartier, David Webb, Hemmerle, Seaman Schepps, Tiffany & Co., Jean Schlumberger, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Verdura.
The top lot of the sale was a Kashmir Sapphire and Diamond Ring which nearly tripled its low estimate, selling for $856,800. Other top lots included a 17-Carat Diamond Ring by Harry Winston which realized $819,000; a Cartier Diamond Pendant-Necklace that sold for $604,800; and a pair of Bulgari Diamond Earrings which achieved $428,400.
Jewels featuring sapphires and emeralds were favorites and overall exceeded expectations. A Star Sapphire and Diamond Ring performed exceptionally well, achieving $107,100 which was nearly nine times its low estimate. All 40 lots of the iconic Bulgari jewelry offered achieved impressive results.
