CHRISTIE’S CONFIRMS PRECAUTIONARY CLOSURES, SALE POSTPONEMENTS IN EUROPE, MIDDLE EAST AND AMERICAS

Christie’s continues to monitor all global developments related to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, including adherence to the recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO). The health and well-being of our employees and our clients remains our highest priority. We continue to assess the situation daily and make appropriate arrangements to help ensure the health and safety of employees and visitors to our salerooms and galleries worldwide. Guillaume Cerutti, Chief Executive Officer, Christie’s: “In the days ahead, we will be communicating a number of necessary changes to our usual course of business, including further changes to our sale calendar. These decisions are undertaken with a great degree of care and in close consultation with our clients.”
Postponed Sales
Christie’s is currently working through a restructuring of its forthcoming spring auctions, including significant changes to the sales calendar in the Americas and Europe.
In the meantime, the following sales scheduled for March and April are confirmed as postponed, with the announcement of new dates and additional sale postponements to come.

Offices update
As a precautionary measure and in keeping with guidance from international and local public health authorities, Christie’s is implementing reduced hours and sales office closures for the following global locations, effective Monday, 16 March: The following offices are closed, with all employee teams working remotely: Amsterdam, Bogota, Brussels, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Dallas, Dubai, Düsseldorf, Geneva, Hamburg, Houston, Los Angeles, Madrid, Mexico City, Miami, Milan, Monaco, Moscow, Munich, New York, Paris, Rome, San Francisco, Santiago, Sao Paulo, Stuttgart, Tel Aviv, Toronto, Vienna, Zurich.
Christie’s London employees will shift to remote working from Tuesday 17 March for an initial two-week period, with the exception of a small team in place at King Street until 19 March to support the above continuing sales this week.
In Asia, Christie’s Hong Kong office has returned to usual open business hours. Beijing and Shanghai offices are operating with reduced staff on-site and remote working arrangements where necessary; Christie’s Seoul offices are open with reduced hours and continued remote working arrangements for the interim.
Please be assured that all of our locations worldwide are following stringent protocols for safety and hygiene, in keeping with all international and local public health guidelines.
